Hello, I am Sanaze, a Transactional Analysis (TA) counsellor based in Banchory. My journey into psychotherapy is deeply rooted in both my personal and professional experiences, each shaping how I meet and accompany every client.
Born in France to Iranian parents, I relocated to Aberdeen in 2016 — a decision that profoundly impacted my life and career. The North-East of Scotland has become my home, a place where I have grown new roots both personally and professionally. Relocating to a new country broadened my perspective and deepened my sensitivity to culture and context. This awareness continues to enrich my practice, enabling me to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and to honour the uniqueness of every story.
Drawing from various cultural backgrounds, I have gained insight into privilege and oppression and their complex influence on identity and belonging. I am passionate about assisting clients through difficult times, helping them discover purpose and develop resilience amidst the pain of loss.
In therapy, I prioritise authentic, present-moment contact, paying close attention to the context and stories that have shaped each individual. By cultivating genuine connection, I seek to offer a space that is safe, supportive, and empowering.
