Hello, I am Sanaze, a counsellor and psychotherapist in advanced clinical training based in Banchory.  I offer a supportive and compassionate space for individuals navigating life’s challenges.
As the daughter of immigrants and an immigrant myself, my personal story is shaped by crossing cultures, adapting to new environments, and holding multiple identities. These experiences have deeply informed my understanding of how culture, belonging, and identity shape our sense of self. I know, both personally and professionally, how disorienting and enriching it can be to find your place across different worlds—and how these journeys echo through generations.
Like many, I have faced periods of adversity. These moments—though painful—have taught me about meaning-making, resilience, and the deep well of compassion we can access through growth. I bring this understanding into my work, not as answers, but as an embodied commitment to be alongside others as they find their own.
Over the years, I have lived and worked across various parts of the UK in different roles supporting adults facing a wide range of emotional and relational difficulties. These experiences have helped shape the values that guide my practice today: respect for autonomy, belief in each person’s innate worth, and a strong trust in our human capacity to grow and make empowering choices.
In Transactional Analysis, we call this the “I’m OK – You’re OK” stance. I hold the belief that we are all doing the best we can with what we have, and that with the right support, we can discover more of who we are and how we want to live. My role is not to direct, but to walk alongside you, offering curiosity, care, and a space where your voice matters.
