Hello, I am Sanaze, a Transactional Analysis (TA) counsellor based in Banchory. My journey into psychotherapy is deeply rooted in both my personal and professional experiences, each shaping how I meet and accompany every client.
Originally from Paris with Iranian parents, the North-East of Scotland has been my home for ten years.
My career began in Paris as a dietitian, driven by a deep interest in the human body and nutrition. Working with patients from diverse cultures, I soon realised that conversations about food often opened the door to very personal parts of their lives. It became clear how essential it is to offer people a safe, trusting space.
Drawn increasingly towards human psychology and cross-cultural understanding, I moved to London from 2011 to 2014, where I graduated in Psychology and became fluent in English.
Life then led me to Aberdeen in 2016. During 2017 and 2018, I supported individuals in the community living with complex mental health conditions. I witnessed both the challenges of recovery and the remarkable resilience many people carry.
In 2021, I began my counselling training in Transactional Analysis at Physis Scotland in Edinburgh. I qualified as a TA counsellor in November 2024 and started building my private practice at Banchory Business Centre in April 2025.
All these experiences now shape the way I work with clients — cultivating a grounded, reflective space where we can explore, understand, and create new meanings together.
