Hello, I am Sanaze, a Transactional Analysis (TA) counsellor based in Banchory. My journey into psychotherapy is deeply rooted in both my personal and professional experiences, each shaping how I meet and accompany every client.
Originally from Paris with Iranian parents, the North-East of Scotland has been my home for ten years.
My career started in Paris as a dietitian, motivated by a deep interest in the human body and nutrition. Working with patients from various cultures, I quickly realised that discussions about food often opened the door to very personal aspects of their lives. It became clear how important it is to provide people with a safe, trustworthy space.
Drawn increasingly towards human psychology and cross-cultural understanding, I moved to London from 2011 to 2014, where I graduated in Psychology and became fluent in English.
Life then led me to Aberdeen in 2016. Until 2019, I supported individuals in the community living with complex mental health conditions. I witnessed both the challenges of recovery and the remarkable inner resilience many people carry.
I began my counselling training in Transactional Analysis at Physis Scotland in Edinburgh in 2021. A year later, I began volunteering as a counsellor with a local charity, deepening my commitment to providing a thoughtful, compassionate space where people can be heard. I qualified as a TA counsellor in November 2024 and established my private practice at Banchory Business Centre in April 2025.
All these experiences have been shaping the way I work with clients — creating a grounded, reflective space where we can explore, deepen our understanding, and together create new meanings.
